About the exhibition:

In clear, visually concise photographic works, videos and performances, often series by nature, Jochum, tense with irony, opens up the seemingly endless solutions to the questions of his works in larger and larger contexts.

In often direct confrontation with the viewer, he speaks through and out of his works. The type of communication he employs travel through time and space. Jochum is able to do this because he operates from the solid basis of a humanist education. His subjects, motifs, and themes derive from the historical heritage and knowledge of mankind, which he uses aptly to rapidly transfer us to the present and the future with the help of current media. This is precisely why, in spite of his clear, rational manner of representation, he leaves us with very emotional sensations.
