Theaster Gates designed his film Public Notice for the 2019 Chicago Architecture Biennial. The approximately 13-minute film shows mostly abandoned rooms and buildings in the city of Chicago that have been transformed and revitalized through Theaster Gates’ work. In the artistic-documentary work, two parallel image tracks accompanied by sound can be seen with rooms, historical recordings, documents and excerpts from interviews.
